Roger Stevens

Military Affiliation and years of service: 7 1/2 years in United States Air Force, 1968 – 1975.

Military occupation and specialties: Weather Observer and Weather Forecaster

Duty assignments / locations: Basic Training at Amarillo AFB, Texas, Weather Observer School at Chanute AFB, Illinois.  Assigned as a Weather Observer at Hurlburt Field, Florida, from January 1969 to March 1971, then loaned to the Army and assigned as a Weather Observer for a Chinook Helicopter Company at Camp Humphreys, Korea from March 1971 to April 1972.  Returning from Korea, attended Weather Forecaster School at Chanute AFB, Illinois.  Assigned as a Weather Forecaster at the Air Force Global Weather Center at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, forecasting severe weather situations in the Asian Theater from January 1973 until December 1975

Civilian occupation:  37 years at Bath Iron Works, 1976 – 2013, joining as an apprentice in the Pipe Fitting trade becoming a 1st Class Mechanic, Trade Planner and eventually a Trade Supervisor.  Transferred to the Yard Planning Department in 2002 and retired as a Planning Manager.

Interests:  Life member of the VFW.  Currently the Post Commander and Adjutant of Post 2197 in Topsham since 2014, also the Commander and Adjutant for Maine District 7 of the VFW since 2014.  Also belong to American Legion post 202, in Topsham.  Non-veteran interests include life membership in SAM (Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine), life membership in NRA (National Rifle Association), and membership in Wildlife Forever, a conservation group run by sportsmen.

Hobbies: Fishing, Hunting, Fly Tying, Camping.

Charles James “Jim” Lentz

Military Affiliation and years of service: 3 years in the United Stated Navy, 1967-1970.

Duty assignments/locations: Naval Training Center-Millington, TN- Oct 1967-Jan 1968. AFUN “P” school, AMFU “A” school, ADR “A” school. Naval Air Station Brunswick, ME- Feb 1968-Apr 1970. Operations Maintenance Dept including Search & Rescue. Naval Air Station Norfolk, VA- FLETACSUPPRO FORTY VRC-40. Naval Reserve manpower Center, Bainbridge, MD- Jan 1971-June 1973.

Civilian occupation: Retired from the United States Postal Service serving in the Management Sectional Center- Northern VA- 1971-1975, U.S.P.S., Brunswick, ME, Woolwich, ME- OIC-1984, W. Southport, ME- OIC-1986, and the financial unit aboard the Naval Air Station Brunswick, ME- 1988-2004 when he retired from the U.S.P.S. Graduated from New Hampshire College with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1981.

Interests: Began volunteering at the Midcoast Veterans Center in 2018. Married with three children and six grandchildren.

Hobbies: Hunting, Fishing, Boating.


Marty Diller

Paul Loveless

Military affiliation and Years of service: Served 2 years 8 months 27 days in the United Stets Navy Reserves than Served for 27 years and 1 months Active Duty in the U.S Navy. LCDR Ret.

Military occupation and Specialties: Electronic Tech/ Anti Sub equipment operator, Tactical Coordinator/ Mission commander in P3C UP Date II Aircraft, Command and Control of ASW Forces.

Duty assignment and locations: Boston Naval Ship Yard, (A School) Millington, TN.  Aircraft type air crew training, Jacksonville, FL. Squadron Assignments: Brunswick VP26, VP10 (Deployed to: Cuba, Sicily, Spain, Iceland, the Azores, Newfoundland, Bermuda, Thailand Philippines, Japan, England, Portugal, Key West FL, Ascension Island and Diego Garcia BIOT.

Police advisor to the Kenyan National Police Reform Commission 2010. Under contract with the U.S. Department of Justice “International Criminal Investigations and Assistance Program (ICITAP”.

Police Advisor to the Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines 2011 and Project Manager to the Southern Philippine Development Project (SPLED) (ICITAP). Served as the MCVRC Director for 5.5 years.
