Assigned as a Weather Observer at Hurlburt Field, Florida, from January 1969 to March 1971, then loaned to the Army and assigned as a Weather Observer for a Chinook Helicopter Company at Camp Humphreys, Korea from March 1971 to April 1972. Returning from Korea, attended Weather Forecaster School at Chanute AFB, Illinois. Assigned as a Weather Forecaster at the Air Force Global Weather Center at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, forecasting severe weather situations in the Asian Theater from January 1973 until December 1975
Civilian occupation: 37 years at Bath Iron Works, 1976 – 2013, joining as an apprentice in the Pipe Fitting trade becoming a 1st Class Mechanic, Trade Planner and eventually a Trade Supervisor. Transferred to the Yard Planning Department in 2002 and retired as a Planning Manager.
Interests: Life member of the VFW. Currently the Post Commander and Adjutant of Post 2197 in Topsham since 2014, also the Commander and Adjutant for Maine District 7 of the VFW since 2014. Also belong to American Legion post 202, in Topsham. Non-veteran interests include life membership in SAM (Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine), life membership in NRA (National Rifle Association), and membership in Wildlife Forever, a conservation group run by sportsmen.
